Most of us have an idea of the type of person we want to become.
Most of us have some idea about the types of relationships we want to have.
Most of us have an idea about our ideal fitness level.
Most of us have a preferred financial future.
Most of us have some picture of a better spiritual or faith life.
Most of us have an idea of the type of career they want to have.
Are you spending time and energy doing the things that are true of what those pictures look like?
It’s simple. But it’s not easy.
First, you have to believe that those things are actually possible.
Second, you have to allow yourself to clarify and identify what those pictures truly look like.
Third, you have to believe that you’re not stuck. Not at all. You have to believe that you are capable and that the resources are available to you.
I believe that most of the thing we want – quality relationships, discipline to be fit and financially healthy, excellence in our careers – are things that God puts in our heart and desires for us too. With those things, we can serve others the best.
If you don’t know where to start, start here: Begin doing the things that the person you picture would be doing. Just start doing those things. And stop doing the things that that person would NOT be doing.
Again… simple. Not easy. But a good place to start.
