Remembering What’s Important

I’m writing this post while watching the University of Georgia vs. University of Missouri game on 10/1/22.

Halftime has just ended and UGA is losing 16-6. UGA – my favorite team – is the number 1 team in college football. At least, they’re ranked number 1.

This game does NOT at all show that UGA is number 1.

In the past, when UGA has been highly ranked and lost, it nearly devastated me. I’d be miserable for days.

I let 18-22 year old young men determine my mood for days or even weeks. Stupid.

It’s okay to be a fan. I love being a fan. It’s fun.

But it can’t determine my mood for more than an evening.

Why?

Because my calling has nothing to do with Georgia football.

Perspective. Priorities. Remembering what’s important.

Do you ever let things that have little or nothing to do with what is really important to you ruin your day or run your mood?

Remember what’s important.
