One of the things that I’d love when my kids were in that 2-4 year old range was the ‘again’ ritual.
You know… you’d do something that they thought was thrilling or funny and they’d say, “Again!”
It was always fun to find that little thing that would make the laugh or create an extra dose of fun for them.
Some sort of funny face or tossing them up in the pool. That type of thing.
It was always, “Again, Daddy!”
It would be a blast for the first 5-10 times.
Now, ‘Again’ means something else to me, but also very satisfying yet in a different way.
‘Again’ these days is all about consistency. Doing something again and again that I know helps move me forward.
Whenever you’re tempted to stop doing that thing that you know you need to do over and over again, just think about that toddler’s request to make the goofy face again.
Remember that in the consistency comes joy.
